Over the past 20 years, AEROMART has established itself as the global event for the aerospace industry. It is today the leading global aerospace venue based on pre-planned one-to-one meetings.

This year, Aerospace hosted more than 800 companies and 1300 expert guests from 28 world countries and made space for numerous B2B negotiations.

It is not an accident that this event takes place in Montreal – the second biggest Canadian city is known as world’s aerospace capital, along with Seattle and Toulouse. 98% of the sector’s activities are concentrated within a 30-kilometre radius of Greater Montréal. They generate 40,160 jobs, including 13,000 engineering and science specialists. One in 102 people in Québec has a job related to aerospace, one of the highest ratios in the world.

Successful delegation

MGM COMPRO was a part of delegation led by Czech Deputy Minister of Transport, Ing. Vladimír Bärtl. Aeromart – being one of the most prominent B2B events of the aviation year – helped us to establish contact with multiple multinational corporations as well as several partnerships with companies from Montreal and Quebéc. We also tried to communicate the topic of complex propulsion units as a basic principle of future aviation.

The results of Aeromart Montreal 2019 exceeded our expectations by a long shot. One of our first interactions with Canadian market was very welcoming and fruitful, and we are very grateful for it. It will be our honor to attend for many more years in the future.

ABOUT THIS EVENT 

“Follow the call!” That was the claim of 50th anniversary of world’s largest boat show in Düsseldorf, BOOT 2019. MGM COMPRO answered this call to see the results of its actual strategic partnerships and also to discuss future business possibilities.

The exhibition event took place in Düsseldorf, Germany between 19.-27. January 2019. There were approximately 2,000 exhibitiors from 73 countries and 250,000 visitors from over 100 countries which was the new record for the boot.

This event has no difficulty in being an event not just for B2B visitors, but at the same time for the presentation of trend sports for the public.Also potential charterers were able to take a look at a wide range of holiday boats and decide exactly what they wanted directly at the trade fair.

WHAT MGM COMPRO DID at BOOT 2019? 

MGM COMPRO came to BOOT 2019 to meet our partners and found out new trends which means we didn’t have an exhibition stand there. However, we are a regular visitor of this exhibition where we mostly talk with our present and future business partners. In spite of this fact, in the year 2022 MGM COMPRO would like to have our own exhibition stand there to present marine propulsion units.

ΦNIX is an airplane powered by electricity. It’s made of modern technologies and materials. This airplane offers a flight duration of minimum 2,5 hours. It’s build for maximum of 2 people and it’s certificated in ELSA (up to 600kg MTOW). The first flight ever was made on the November 6th, 2018. What’s super cool is the fact that this aircraft is completely designed and manufactured in Czech republic. The Czechs are truly among the absolute world leaders in this field, as only few people know about the construction of aircrafts used primarily for sports purposes. Maybe that’s why we can afford to experiment a bit and set a new direction.

THE POWER OF THIS AIRCRAFT

ΦNIX is powered by Li-Ion batteries with a total capacity of 35 kWh. The batteries are located in the aircraft wing and under the front hood of the aircraft instead of the engine. If you would like to recalculate the hourly energy consumption, the final price would be approximately 55 kč. This already makes a big difference for the end consumer compared to conventional ultralights, which burns about 10 liters of petrol in 60 minutes of flight.

ABOUT EUROSATORY

It is the international land and airland Defence and Security exhibition. It takes place every 2 years in order to gather the whole offer and demands of the domains. The quality of this event is based on four pillars which are: International, Business, Technological showcase and A forum for ideas. We deciced to be a part of Eurosatory 2018 in order to visit our present and future partners and to get in touch with more people, partners and visitors as well.

Eurosatory is following the evolution in the current security requirements and is putting forward creativity and innovative technology of its exhibitors to showcase technological clusters such as intelligence, civil security, crisis management, security of critical infrastructures and chemical biological radiation nuclear. About WARR Hyperloop

A team of students from the Technical University of Munich (TUM) was one of two European university groups to win top honors in SpaceX Hyperloop Pod Competition. The competition was about promoting the development of the Hyperloop high-speed transport system. They achieved a top speed of 467 km/h and their high-speed capsule was around 50% faster than the last year. MGM COMPRO supplied the winning team with propulsion systems and motor controllers. 

It was a hyperloop hat trick by a team of German engineering students at the third annual SpaceX pod competition on Sunday. WARR Hyperloop from the Technical University of Munich took home the top prize — and set a new record — with their self-propelled pod reaching a top speed of 284 mph (457 km/h). – theverge.com

ABOUT AERO FRIEDRICHSHAFEN

It has become a tradition for MGM COMPRO to be a part of AERO FRIEDRICHSHAFEN every year. AERO presents the world of flight and in the year 2018 it was the 26th edition of this event. The event took place at the Friedrichshafen Exhibition Grounds from April 18 to April 21.

AERO 2018 was filled with the full range of flight topics was rounded off by avionics equipment and propulsion systems as well as pilot supplies and flight training course offerings. The products and services presented during the show by more than 700 exhibitors from around the world include more than 300 aircraft and cover the entire range from gliders and light aircraft to larger airplanes, midsize business jets and helicopters.

AERO leads trade show for general aviation. When we say leads, we really do mean it. Why? Mainly because AERO hosts more than 700 exhibitors from 38 countries, offers 12 exhibition halls plus static display, 2 foyers and we haven’t mentioned magnificent gross area of 105,000 m² yet.

It was a big pleasure for us to be a part of AERO 2018, which highers its standards every year. We’re looking forward to participate in the next year and to continue our tradition. AERO Friedrichshafen

In 2016 we participated on the prestigious trade fair of aviation industry in Friedrichshafen. We are ”’already preparing”’ our stand for this year’s event. We can tell you that it will be really worth visiting. We will inform you more about the ”’AERO 2017”’ in the following weeks. It takes place on 5-7 April.

PARTNERSHIP WITH GP GLIDERS

A very important part of 2016 was our cooperation with GP GLIDERS, thanks to which the electric glider GP 14 SE Velo took off in December.

We have cooperated with our partner on the development of complete propulsion unit including Battery Management System (BMS), Battery Accupacks and Electronic Speed Controllers (ESCs). We hope that together, we can develop products, which will soon be spotted on the sky.

Although Drones were initially developed for military purposes, they quickly found their use also in other fields. These highly innovative machines have the potential to change our ordinary lives.

Professional machine or sci-fi vision of the future?

The most interesting project by our partner is undoubtedly the drone called FLIKE. It can carry enormous load of 400 kg and is one of the largest tricopters in the world.

Among its top advantages belong very easy maintenance and both remote and onboard controlling systems. The main and very ambitious goal of the project FLIKE is nothing less than to change the way of transportation we know today.

Applications of ByeGravity solutions

ByeGravity develops special solutions for multicopters with carrying capacity between 50 and 400 kg. This company also offers services and consultations to other companies with similar vision. They take their functional solution and modify it for concrete projects.

One of their own systems, Failsafe Flight controller system secures safe landing of the aircraft with its 3 computer systems. Bye Gravity has also developed the system that allows drones to land safely even with one motor out of order.

Wide range of FLIKE’s use

• Border security – When it comes to daunting intruders by sole demonstration of power, size does matter. And ByeGravity drones are simply huge. They are not just there – they dominate the territory
• Search & Rescue – Drones are known to perform in the search part quite well. ByeGravity multicopters can do the rescue part too.
• First response – When every second counts, traffic jams or terrain barriers may result in impermissible delays. Paramedics, firefighters and police officers riding ByeGravity personal transportation devices are les exposed.
• Transportation – ByeGravity drones are capable of forwarding freights up to 100 kgs safely and autonomously. Payload can be deployed mid-air or after automated landing.

This year’s event took place at PVA EXPO PRAHA and got official support of the Czech Ministry of Defense, Chief of the General Staff, Ministry of the Interior, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, civili and military parts of the Nato HQ, European Defense Agency (EDA), and many other relevant national and international institutions, organizations and agencies.

We are glad that even our partners participated at this year’s FFF. One of them – ”’VOP CZ”’ is a company that specializes in the field of military equipment engineering production and development. Their own development is followed by modernization and production of military equipment and the production of civilian products. We cooperate with this company on an unmanned ground vehicle. It is designed for combat and logistic support of mechanized reconnaissance and Special Forces in a complex and risky operating environment.

Our partner, company Skyleader was one of the exhibitors at FFF to present their aircraft. We cooperate with this company on ”’development and production of fully electric airplane”’. We will give you more info soon.

Future of defense forces

More companies in the field of defense and security focus on manufacturing of automated reconnaissance and positioning technology. At FFF we got chance to see the latest technology, for example advanced field hospital with operating rooms and emergency vehicles for police and firefighters.

We are very proud to see our partners at such important event as Future Forces Forum is. We believe, that we will start to cooperate with even more companies in this field soon.

Winfried is in charge of a few projects associated with drones. We have informed you about his previous project Drone4Agro, now it is time to inform you about ManDrone.

ManDrone is a concept of hybrid between ultra-light aircraft and flying drone. This multicopter has 12 coaxial propellers that enable this vehicle to take-off and land vertically. Thanks to its length and width of 3 by 2,5 meters it is also less expensive and easier to maintain. It doesn’t require any runway or an aircraft hangar like ordinary airplanes.

Safety first

With 12 motors arranged in 6 coaxial groups it can keep flight level with even 2 motors out of function. Its fly-by-wire system provides automatic control adjustment in order to maintain controllable and stable flight. It has built in rocket parachute to provide safe landing in case of more serious failure.

Bright future for drones

Main coordinator of ManDrone, Wilfried Rissenbeek plans to build drone so it can carry twice its own weight (150 kg). Because of this fact, ManDrone finds potential use in several applications:

• Agricultural drone, used for treating crops with pesticides
• Firefighting drone used for extinguishing smaller fires on hard to reach areas and reconnaissance
• Search and rescue drone, used for quick medical supplying and extraction
• Environmental drone used for gathering data, samples and environmental reconnaissance
• Supply drone, used for delivering critical materials in hard to reach terrains

MGM COMPRO and its role in the project

The main goal of experts, who joined this team is designing functional aircraft in about 2 years. This team also cooperates on Drone4Agro project, which is already in the stage of the functioning prototype. The serial production should be started in the upcoming years.

Agricultural revolution is important for saving farmers expenses and to ”reduce nature’s devastation” – the main goal of Dutch start-up, Drone4Agro. In two years, functioning agricultural drone will have all necessary certificates and valid authorization to be used all over the world.

Lower expenses and no nature devastation

Drone4Agro is a multicopter with 12 propellers, which allow it to take of vertically from the ground. Farmers don’t have to use a runway to take off with their crop duster airplanes. In contrast to spraying vehicles, drone is not using ground to transport. So there is no soil compaction. It doesn’t need wheel trails that occupy space where a plants could have grown.

The size of the drone is 3 by 2,5 meters so it doesn’t require a hangar or a large garage like planes or vehicles do. Also its maintenance is much easier. Thanks to built-in GPS navigation, crop spraying is more precise and effective.

20 minutes of air time with 150 kg load

With one fully charged battery should drone flight duration be around 20 minutes and maximal load can weigh between 100 and 150 kg. It can cary that much of a load thanks to 12 propellers. Stable and safe flight is secured even if 2 propellers stops working. In the case of more serious failure, built-in parachute will provide safe landing.

Future of industrial drones thanks to agricultural revolution

Once this Dutch start-up finishes their drone, its usage is limitless, not only in agricultural revolution. It is a question of 2 years and those drones will help firefighters to extinguish the fire in inaccessible locations. Mountain rescue service will appreciate its remote controlling and vertical start while looking for missing tourists.

Trends and statistics in

For starters let us go through a couple of facts about this renowned trade fair. It takes place in Paris and this year it was from 13th to 17th June. There was altogether 1572 exhibitors from 56 countries and the gates of Villepinte Exhibition Centre welcomed more than 57 thousand visitors, which proves the significant importance of the event.

This year we were mainly interested in new trends in the segment of military UAVs (drones mainly), where the electric solutions go significantly further and further very fast. It was a pleasure to talk about MGM COMPRO technologies with leading companies on the market.

Now we intensively work on having MGM COMPRO solutions in UAV projects of our partners until the next EUROSATORY in 2018.

MGM COMPRO is a part of another very interesting project called Electric rescue system for helicopter of our new Hungarian partner.

The main goal of this project is a development of one-seat helicopter with two independent emergency propulsion systems.

These two propulsion units are unique, their target is a maximum safety for the flight. Main propulsion unit is the combustion engine, electric ones are used in the event of any damage or malfunction of the main one as a backup drive.

Within a few seconds after damage or any problems of combustion engine, electric propulsion unit gives power for immediate emergency landing.

Russians are very popular for their original inventions and one of the MGM COMPRO projects proves this on 100 %.
The main idea of Mr. Antonov (our partner) was to use two 71cm propellers, both based on the electric propulsion to give thrust to the glider.

The task for MGM COMPRO was to come with an appropriate solution in about 2 months, quite challenging task, but we made it!

GP 15 JETA – Development of future Electric Glider

We are really glad that GP GLIDERS share the same philosophy with MGM COMPRO: “Development should never stop and it is necessary to work on it intensively.”

This year´s AERO Friedrichshafen took place from 20 to 23 April. There were more than 600 exhibitors and almost 31 thousand visitors came to the exhibition area. We are glad, that plenty of them also visited our stand to see MGM COMPRO top-of-the-range technologies.

Huge interest in complex propulsion systems

MGM COMPRO exhibited (like every year) in the hall dedicated to electric flying. We were excited that there was a really huge interest in this field. Our promotion materials were all gone within 2 days. This was incredible and proved a huge potential of our new products – complex electric propulsion systems for gliders, electric planes, trikes and paragliders featuring our speed controllers .
There is no doubt that these Ready to Fly“ Electric Propulsion Systems (8-33 kW) were the biggest attraction. These systems are thanks to the mounting of connectors really easy to connect and ready to fly right away. Meeting the standard IP67 (dust and water resistance – for 30 minutes in 1m depth) is undoubtedly their big advantage.

Visitors also appreciated great variability of MGM COMPRO Battery Accupacks and their BMS (Battery Management Systems). Our  electric motors (1-80kW) and chargers  of industrial battery systems attracted a lot of interest as well.

Apart from the top parameters of MGM COMPRO products, visitors also appreciated the years of experience and particularly the amount of projects from all over the world, which MGM COMPRO is involved in.

AERO FRIEDRICHSHAFEN SHOWED THAT The trend continues

Desire to get an electric propulsion system for aircrafts is rising every year – big exhibitions like this one in AERO Friedrichshafen prove such trend.

NASA’s main goal of this project is development of a brand new fully electric airplane, which may totally change the direction of electric aviation.

Look at for specification about this NASA’s airplane, which is called LEAPTech:

Milestone in electric aviation

The plan for this year is mainly testing of an experimental wing, developing and using a new simulator to look at controls and handling characteristics of the aircraft. After this step should be everything ready to proceed to testing flights.

We are convinced that there is a huge future potential for NASA’s project. The gathered knowledge might be a milestone for the development of electric aviation. From our point of view is dependence on fossil fuels slowly coming to an end. This is why we are very proud to be part of it with deliveries of our top ”Electric Speed Controllers (ESCs)”.

What did Airbus came up with? 

This project is an evolution of the Cri-Cri electric plane, which was used by Airbus to test batteries and management technologies.

The E-Fan can proudly display its all-composite construction, which is 6.7 m long and has a wingspan of 9.5 m. If you look at this plane, you can’t overlook two jet engines, which are powered by 2 electric motors giving a total power of 60 kW.

The engines are powered by a series of 250 V Li-Pol batteries. They are ready to provide a range of one-hour flight and can be recharged in the same time. For a safety reasons there is also a backup battery to enable emergency landings.

MGM COMPRO industrial controllers are a part of E-FADEC energy management system, which is a crucial technology to operate the whole electrical system. This key technology automatically handles electrical systems of the aircraft.

Mutual cooperation

The enterprise VOP CZ is a traditional Czech producer and developer of technologies for both military and civilian purposes. It’s been on the market since 1946 ad the main focus is given to service, modernization, production and development of technology for ground forces.

The cooperation with MGM COMPRO takes place in the field of the development of the army vehicle Taros V2, which is unique robot designed for combat and logistic support of special forces.

MGM COMPRO engineers participate in the complex delivery for the company VOP CZ, where the main role play our top quality industrial brushless speed controllers. Moreover, we take care of the development and delivery of specialized electric motors.

Cooperation with our partner has a huge potential for the future – mainly in the field of  lithium-based batteries and BMS systems ensuring high-end management of energy storage using battery systems.
