We are excited to share our experience at IDEF 2025!

Our team recently participated in IDEF 2025, one of the most prominent defense and industrial events of the year. The event has successfully concluded, and we are proud to have been part of this impressive gathering. During the exhibition, we had the opportunity to showcase our latest products and innovations to a diverse audience of industry professionals, government officials, and potential partners. Specialy our state of the art High Power Electric Propulsion Systems (EPS) for Aviation (10 – 400 kW).

Attending IDEF 2025 allowed us to strengthen existing relationships and forge new collaborations, all while gaining valuable insights into the latest trends and technologies shaping the defense sector. We are grateful for the engaging conversations, feedback, and interest shown in our offerings.

Paris Air Show is behind us, and although it’s been a week, we are still absorbing all the successful meetings and experiences we had. Fantastic news! The team in Germany has made a remarkable effort, marking a major advancement.

We are proud of AVILUS, our long-term partner, for achieving official certification by the German Federal Aviation Office (Luftfahrt-Bundesamt, LBA) as a Light UAS Operator (LUC) under Regulation (EU) 2019/947, Annex Part C. We have to admit that, thanks to our principles, technologies and highly qualified engineers, we work with clients who are trying to find answers to today’s questions in terms of sustainability and ecology.

We are pleased to present the project on which we have worked with the utmost importance and interest. Together with the partner Turkish Technic INC. (belonging to the Turkish Airlines group), we were able to complete a project that changes not only the future of transport, but also the overall use of airspace, despite the difficult pandemic situation.

The unique Taxi Drone is complemented by our 40 kW electric motor, 100 kW Motor Controller and unique battery system which has been designed specifically for this task. Developing a battery specifically for this project was a challenge. It is very important for us that all components work in synergy with the overall system, so we carefully tested the entire setup, including coaxial propellers as we used to.

OUR PARTNERS UNDERSTAND that electric motors are future of URBAN air mobility

Turkish Technic INC. is responsibly addressing the current issue of urban air mobility, which has become even more current topic in recent years, with the world changing its rules and focusing on sustainability in all areas of each industry.

Urban Air Mobility projects address congestion on conventional roads, which suffer not only in metropolitan and large cities. Last but not least, we find another positive in this modern infrastructure as easier accessibility.

Innovation in the Air: Merging the Forces of Combustion Engine and Electric Motor

Our innovative hybrid propulsion unit represents a revolution in the industry by combining cutting-edge combustion engine technology with a modern electric motor. Developed in partnership with Distar CZ a. s. and ČVUT – Department of Aerospace Engineering, we offer an innovative solution for ultralight aircraft.

The relentless evolution and innovation in the field of transportation electrification pose a daily challenge for our R&D department. Join us as we look at the development of the Hybrid Power Unit for the aviation industry.

Development and designing

At the beginning of the project, we needed to select a suitable aircraft and the most appropriate combustion engine for our application. We systematically evaluated the project’s needs and requirements and proposed the ideal type of aircraft for implementing the hybrid power unit. The second task was to select a suitable combustion engine for our application. Afterwards, we finally started with designing of hybrid propulsion unit.

3D Models and Design Work

Our teams contributed to the development of comprehensive 3D models and design work, encompassing the electric motor, battery system, combustion engine, interconnections between them, engine mounts, and cooling systems.

Analysis, Calculations, Simulations, and Testing

We conducted extensive analyses, calculations, and simulations to ensure the safety, reliability, and optimal performance of our hybrid power unit. We carried out strength tests, including tests of the engine mounts, maximum wing loads, combustion engine, and electric propulsion system, to verify their safety and reliability.

Construction of Flying Laboratory

All our research findings were ultimately transferred to successful testing in practice. Under our supervision, a completely new aircraft was created, which was converted into a flying laboratory, with which we successfully completed test flights.

The International Engineering Fair which has a deep tradition in the Czech Republic was held in 10.–13. 10. 2023. Even though Engineering is not our main field, we participated this year as an exhibitor as a part of the Czech National Exhibition.

The common national stand was held by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic with one clear goal – to showcase the best and most innovative companies in the industry, not only to local visitors but mainly to foreign delegations.  

We were very delighted, that we could share exhibition space with companies such as PBS Velká Bíteš, Petrof, AERO Vodochody AEROSPACE a.s., DEVINN s.r.o., CIE HR s.r.o., VisionCraft s.r.o., and PEGAS-GONDA, s.r.o.

Our company introduced a new project, an electric propulsion unit for general aviation aircraft. We are glad that we could present our innovation to the national delegation led by the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic and the Minister of Industry and Trade, as well as to foreign delegations like the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan with the Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade.

Paris Air show is back after a 4-years break

The Paris Air Show, an undisputed showcase for the aerospace industries, has been a success, shattering records with a fantastic presence of over 2,500 exhibitors. This event proved to be an excellent platform for networking, creating possibilities, and building new collaborations, with more than $150 billion in orders placed during the fair. MGM COMPRO was part of the Czech Republic’s national delegation to showcase our complex drive systems, battery systems, electric motors or speed controllers, and other products from our portfolio.

The exhibition attracted 380,000 people and 1,850 journalists over the course of the week, attracting both industry experts and an eager general audience. The Careers sector offered insights into future occupations, and the Paris Air Lab, a specialized location for research, innovation, and forward-thinking, was highlighted for attendees.

Visitors were treated to a stunning visual feast while admiring the 150 aircraft on exhibit, 50 of which were displayed in exhilarating flying demonstrations. Notably, the participation of over 322 official delegations, including visits from France’s President and the bulk of the French cabinet, added to the show’s worldwide relevance.

The Paris Air Show continues to demonstrate its importance as a must-attend event for the aeronautics and telecommunications sectors, where innovation and cooperation thrive, paving the way for a bright future in aviation and technology.

Showcase of leading technologies and innovative solutions

The year 2023 is marked by trade fairs, and IDET, the International Defence and Security Technology Fair, is no exception. The 17th edition took place in May at the Brno Exhibition Centre and once again confirmed its position among the most important European trade fairs of its kind. The event featured a comprehensive showcase of new technologies and options to counter security risks. A total of 551 exhibiting companies from 29 countries presented themselves this year, and more than 30,000 trade visitors from dozens of countries visited the trade fairs over three days.

Expansion of cooperation and new contacts

The fair is held with the support and participation of the most important political and military representatives of the Czech Republic. The largest exhibitor is the Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic and the Army of the Czech Republic. The fair is visited by foreign military delegations and foreign ministries of defense for armaments. We were able to meet with our leading customers and partners and discuss important developments related to our complex electric propulsion systems, custom battery systems, and specialty electronics.

Impressive Showcase of General Aviation Innovations

AERO Friedrichshafen 2023, the leading international trade show for General Aviation, lived up to its reputation this year with over 670 exhibitors from 35 nations. As always, all exhibitors focusing on electrically powered aircraft were grouped in Hall A7, designated entirely for green energy. Renowned companies showcased their latest innovations, including eVTOLs, gliders, drones, electric planes, and other cutting-edge products. MGM COMPRO was proud to be part of this event and had the opportunity to get new contacts and strengthen relationships with long-term customers and partners.

Organized Preparation and Impressive Stand

Preparations for the fair were seamless, and MGM COMPRO expanded its stand to over 200 m2 in Hall A7 to showcase its technology. We displayed our electric motors, brushless electric controllers, electric propulsion systems, batteries, and other electronics. To add a touch of variety, MGM COMPRO also invited two other companies, GP Gliders, and XSUN, to decorate the stand with their projects. GP Gliders brought a beautiful glider and XSUN brought its solar-powered drone to the show. Visitors could see both of these aircraft up close. Each project took one side of the stand, allowing visitors and business partners to see firsthand the projects in which MGM COMPRO was involved.

MGM COMPRO participated in this year’s SME Assembly, which was hosted by the European Commission and the Czech Presidency of the Council of the EU in Prague, Czech Republic, from November 28 to 30, 2022. The SME Assembly is Europe’s most important gathering for small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs), bringing together a network of SME envoys.

It was a brilliant opportunity to hear from and be inspired by major European policymakers on how to encourage sustainable entrepreneurship and SMEs in Europe. We also showed the participating representatives our product portfolio of electric motor controllers, battery management systems, electronic contactors, and others. Plus, we met with interesting Czech SME technology companies.

Electronica is one of Europe’s most important trade fairs for the electronics industry. The exhibitors present electronic components, systems, applications, and services. This event took place once again in Munich – Germany and of course, MGM COMPRO couldn’t miss out on this special event as one of the biggest developers and manufacturers of specialty electronics such as processor-based speed controllers for electric motors and other products.

We are proud to have been part of this major event and to meet with our partners from Infineon. This year, we could see over 2.000 other exhibitors and approximately 70.000+ visitors from around 100 different countries.

MGM COMPRO IS A PART OF THIS FANTASTIC PROJECT with airspeeder

Our cooperation with Airspeeder is ongoing. As in every other partnership, also in this one we are trying to adapt to the customer needs and wishes. That’s why we are still in contact and discussing every „how“ and „why“ to make it simply the best it could be. In the cooperations like this it’s very important to go step-by-step and do the fine-tuning which means that during all the testing part we are in a nonstop contact and ready to help and communicate everything with the development team.

To our partner we’ve been supplying our brushless motor controllers, as well as our battery system. In our product we use advanced data logging and analysis thanks to which we have all the data in one place and if needed we are able to go through datapackage and analyse the data remotely so that the development team can take advantage of it. 

We keep our fingers crossed so that the tests will work out good and Airspeeder will be a reality at the end of this year. As always, we are really proud and happy about this cooperation, which determines the vision of the future.

MGM COMPRO was present at the opening of a new space and aerospace technology research and testing center in Prague. Our company was invited to the inaugural ceremony at the Czech Aerospace research center (VZLÚ) thanks to our very close and strong relations. On Thursday, October 6, 2022, the Ministers of Transport and Finance, along with the Institute’s Director, Josef Kaspar, officially launched the entire new complex.

The center, called “C3T – Czech Centre for Competitive Technologies“, will largely focus on the testing and development of unmanned aerial cargo and people transport, as well as space technologies that benefit people on Earth.

Tour of the C3T Center

The Space Division’s new satellite control center has been on show as part of the tour. The Aviation Division demonstrated unmanned drone testing, as well as robotic non-destructive surface ultrasonic testing. Overall, the new C3T facility provides numerous possibilities for the future advancement of space research. Over the next few years, the facility will be equipped with cutting-edge equipment, allowing C3T to provide testing services to other research institutes or corporations that previously had to test elsewhere abroad.

Last week was full of news and interesting meetings for MGM COMPRO. We spent some time with SENASA, a Spanish company with multiple sections that deal with various aspects of aviation. As a state-owned enterprise, SENASA provides aircraft repair and operating services, among other things.

The maintenance is done in many SENASA-owned facilities. Our representatives went to the first of these, the CEMASS center at Matacán Air Base (Salamanca), where SENASA maintains the Adventia pilot school, the Air Force’s C-90 aircraft, and other clients. Air Traffic Services is responsible for assisting various public and commercial organizations with aeronautical activities and aircraft operations.

The entire discussion between our organizations was very fruitful, and we are truly thankful to SENASA for their cooperation. We would also like to thank the local government authorities for organizing the discussion, during which we discussed potential collaboration in electrification development projects and the usage of alternative propulsion utilizing hydrogen or fuel cells.

MGM COMPRO was for the first time part of one of the biggest Boat shows in Europe with its name Salone Nautico 2022 that took place in Genova, Italy. This boat show is definitely one of the most known and it delivered exactly the expectations that we as an exhibitor had. Salone Nautico is a fantastic event that brought many marine manufacturers and designers under one roof this year. We at MGM COMPRO had the fantastic opportunity to meet and discuss the vast opportunities on how we can cooperate with marine producers to develop the future generation of electric propulsion systems to meet the strict regulations being brought into the market over the years to come.

We were not alone at the stand this year either, we were joined by the Czech Maritime Cluster. MGM COMPRO is a founding member of this cluster, whose primary goal is to provide a communication background for its members, which includes companies operating in the shipping industry throughout the Czech Republic. The basic reason for the creation of the cluster was to support the development of cooperation between companies involved in the shipping industry.

We at MGM COMPRO look forward to introducing our new generation of technology to the marine industry soon. And also, we are looking forward to coming once again in the next years of Salone Nautico.
