This industrial charger integrates a battery management system in order to provide precision control over charging and the management of all battery systems at high currents (tens of amperes).
The industrial charger BMC4530 represents a balanced yet high performance charger. It is intended for applications involving charging of banks of batteries which do not have a classic BMS system installed.
This solution is particularly suited for aircraft and applications where the total weight of the battery banks is critical. This means that balancers installed directly on the cells are not desirable, in this case. It saves on the weight of the battery banks themselves and eliminates issues of excess heat generated from balancing when charging these types of batteries.\\\\
In this concept, the installed BMS checks cell status during charging and performs monitoring. More precisely, it is a built-in component of the pack (battery banks). On the one hand it is a very small unit, with low weight that does not emit heat, but it also monitors and logs data on the condition of the entire bank of batteries and individual cells. It also communicates with supervisory and on-board systems.
A charger has its own power charging components (inverter) with complete management of power balancing between individual cells. A clear given for this kind of system at the given technological level is microprocessor control of all components. This also secures communication with supervisory systems. When combined with highly sophisticated chargers and balancing algorithms, MGM COMPRO represents the most advanced technology for extending battery life and managing batteries.
This industrial charger offers a wide range of options for communicating with PCs. It enables the most basic of settings to the most detailed monitoring of the charging process and diagnostics for individual cells of a battery and the battery as a whole. A PC or notebook computer connection is all that is needed for such unprecedented access. Basic status information is shown on the indicator display and the large LEDs located directly on the charger as well.
The charging performance of the industrial charger in the attached photos is nearby 6kW. Performance can be significantly increased or decreased depending on customer requirements and the specific application for which the charger will be used.
This complex charging system was designed so that subsequent configuration of the industrial charger could be as open as possible (number of cells, charging current, charging performance, etc.); it all depends on your needs.
